Marazion Station Car Park

One of the most popular windsurfing venues in Cornwall. Overlooked by the imposing St. Michael's Mount.

Marazion is a thriving town overlooking Mounts Bay, which itself is dominated by St. Michael's Mount. The town itslef has all the amenities, shops, banks, cafes, restaurnats etc. that you would need.

The beach is a fine sandy beach which provides access to St. Michael's Mount via a cobbled causeway. It can get busy in the summer months and is very popular with windsurfers.

Conditions for windsurfing can be great for all abilities. In light winds the flat water make is ideal for beginners, but in stronger winds with a Southerly swell it can provide excellent wave-sailing. Best wind directions are W-SW, E and SE are OK, but St. Michael's Mount can create a wind shadow. There can also be a pretty nasty shore-break at high tide. 3-4 hours either side of low water is the best time to sail.

Marazion is the venue for several local, national and international windsurfing events.

Marazion Marsh just behind the beach is a great place for the kids to explore, especially any budding bird-watchers as it is an RSPB resever with several bird hides.

There is a dog ban from Easter Day to 1st October on the section of the beach between the Causeway and the Station House.

Lifeguard cover is provided from Marazion during mid-May to September (10am - 6pm). Emergency lifesaving equipment and telephones are provided.

Mood: looking forward to some snowbo

good for kitesurfing; the shore break is not as bad as on the main beach by the cafe. a good deal of Mike Smiths fluid edge kitesurfging DVDs were filmed here. Marazion is one of my favourit beaches on a southerly.

Marazion to long rock

This is a wicked shore line to kitesurf and windsurf on theres a free carpark at long rock if you turn by the car garage over the rail lines .
and there is a little butty van there .
when its not there about 1/4 mile away there is a shop hot cornish pasties and home made butties .
Nice!!!!
also about 300 yarsa from Marizion there is a kite repair and sail repair shop that also do some kite bits not much
This shore is well worth a go.
